Fine yarn advent calendar for knitters and crocheters
UK postal addresses order deadline: 18th of November, 2020
Non-UK postal addresses: no longer available for order, sorry!
Want to count down to Christmas and enjoy some knitting and crochet with beautiful, naturally dyed British wool yarn?
This advent calendar contains 10g of 4-ply weight (fingering weight) yarn per day over 25 days, making a total of 250g of yarn (approx. 9500m).
The yarn in this advent calendar will be a mix of Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) and Masham sheep's wool yarn. Some days will be undyed natural shades, but the majority will consist of lovely naturally dyed colours, hand-dyed by me in Bristol using as low-impact methods as possible.
You could use all the yarn in one project or spread them out over several. The 250g in this calendar will be more than enough for a lightweight shawl or baby blanket. You could also double the yarn up to create thicker but smaller shawls, hats, mittens, and other accessories.
This advent calendar does not come with a pattern (I'm sorry - maybe next year!) and doesn't contain any other "treats" except the yarn. I have set the calendar at a very reasonable price to reflects this.
You can choose to receive the yarn with or without my wooden advent calendar, designed by me and laser cut in Bristol about away from me. It comes flat-packed - please watch my YouTube tutorial to put it together. It can then be disassembled after Christmas for use year after year.
You can also choose whether to receive the yarn unwrapped or wrapped in tissue paper with a day sticker on, so that you can create your own advent calendar by hanging the labelled, wrapped bundles of yarn on a piece of rope, for example.
All the wool is sourced, spun, and dyed in the UK. All my yarns are non-superwash (meaning that unlike a lot of yarns, they haven't been treated with bleach and synthetic resin to make them felt-resistant). Wash in cold, pH-neutral soap. Dry away from direct sunlight. Store away from direct sunlight.
I hope you enjoy creating a beautiful project using this yarn!
