Linen is a wonderful fibre to work with. Not only can it be grown in Europe (closer to home for me and most of my customers) without the high pesticide and water use often associated with cotton, it's also strong, durable, breathable, and water-absorbent. You can read more about flax and linen here on the Irish Linen Guild website.
This fabric is a medium weight fabric, suitable for clothes and soft furnishings. It's also ideal for embroidery and punch needle projects.
This fabric has been woven in Ireland and is either sold undyed or hand-dyed by me in Bristol using natural dyes.
Suitable for machine washing. Was only at 30 degrees Celsius using pH-neutral, bleach-free, sensitive soap. Natural dyes may wash out a little during the first few washes. Please don't be alarmed if a little colours runs off.
In case of indigo-dyed items: Although I rinse skeins thoroughly to try and reduce this as much as possible, a bit of staining (also called crocking in this case because it is caused specifically by abrasion) is part and parcel of natural indigo-dyed products.
Dry and store away from direct sunlight.
